If you don’t think your Twitter username (or manager) suits you better, don’t rush into it. deleting your Twitter account and creates a new one. Where to find your Twitter display and handling name

Your Twitter manager (also known as your username) is the name associated with your Twitter account. It’s the name other people use to find your account, tag you in posts, and send you messages on Twitter.

To find your Twitter manager, sign in to your Twitter account and open the profile page. Your ID is the name that begins with the @ symbol, just below your profile picture.

Another part of your account information that you may want to change is your visible name. This is the name shown just above your Twitter manager. The difference between your Twitter manager and your visible name is that while your visible name may be the same as other Twitter users, your driver is unique to your Twitter account. Unlike your driver, your name visible on Twitter can be up to 50 characters long.

Why change Twitter’s name or driver?

You can change both your Twitter ID and display name as many times as you want, but why do it in the first place?

The first most obvious reason is that you may no longer feel that your username suits you better. If you have the same Twitter account for years, you may want to change your username to something more relevant.

It is also recommended to change your Twitter driver before deleting your Twitter account. Especially if you think there is a possibility to change your mind when leaving the platform. When you create a new Twitter account, you may want to use the same email and Twitter manager.

When you delete your account, Twitter cancels your username and email, so you won’t be able to use it again later. Changing your current username on Twitter before deleting your account will make that original username available for future use.

Changing your display name or driver will not affect your Twitter account, including followers, messages, or replies. After updating the display name and username, the new user information will appear on the profile page below the profile picture.
